This exceptional three-dimensional mixed-media relief painting is an original work by Aaron Zook. This circular relief painting exemplifies the hallmarks of Zook’s craftsmanship: a carefully modeled landscape, layered terrain, and detailed structures arranged to create depth and narrative interest. The composition features a classic rural farm setting; complete with a team of horses, a wagon loaded with hay, and a striking farm complex set against gently rolling fields. Sculpted foreground elements add dimensionality, while Zook’s characteristically vivid palette brings warmth and vitality to the countryside scene. The painting is mounted in a handsome circular wood frame that complements the natural warmth of the scene and accentuates its sculptural qualities. The frame also reflects the period presentation commonly found on Zook’s smaller dimensional works. A beautifully executed and highly collectible example of Aaron Zook’s artistry, this piece embodies the enduring appeal of his three-dimensional rural vignettes; an important contribution to the landscape of American folk art. Dimensions: 9" round. This piece is part of a set of four paintings, one for each season of the year.
