Three-dimensional folk art relief by Pennsylvania artist Aaron Zook, depicting a snow-covered winter landscape centered on a traditional red grist mill. Set among rolling hills and framed by snow-laden trees, the mill stands beside a winding stream, with textured banks and a working waterwheel adding visual interest to the peaceful scene. Zook employs layered carving and relief construction to create depth within the circular format, drawing the viewer's eye toward the vibrant red mill that contrasts beautifully against the cool whites, grays, and blues of the winter landscape. The detailed waterwheel, textured snow, and carefully modeled trees demonstrate incedible craftsmanship, while the composition captures the quiet beauty and nostalgia of rural Pennsylvania in winter. This piece is a quarter of a four-piece seasonal set.
